BEFORE YOU LEAVE HOME

checklist

Clothes

Hats, sunglasses and beach towels are essential for the warmer months and over winter a warm jacket and boots/gumboots will allow you to be comfortable as you enjoy sitting around the campfire. Pack runners or walking shoes so you can take in the scenery along the 3kms of Murray River frontage and enjoy the walking tracks around the 323ha farming property.

Camping Gear

Tent, air mattress, sleeping bag, pillow, gas cooker (in case there is a fire ban), frying pan, billy, matches, esky, cutlery, sharp knife, chopping board, plastic plates / bowls / cups, tongs and spatula, washing up tub and liquid, tea towel, bath towel.

Food

The holiday villas are fully self contained and each one has its own BBQ. The camp kitchens also have cooking and BBQ facilities.
Shopping for groceries can be done en-route to Morning Glory – there is a Woolworths (and BWS) on the left as you head North out of Moama or an IGA on the right on the North side of Shepparton . Make sure you don’t forget the marshmallows and ingredients for damper to cook on the campfire!

Kiosk

Our kiosk stocks daily requirements such a bread, milk, ice, gas & fuel (unleaded & premium) along with basic grocery items, cold drinks, ice creams, chips & lollies.

Newspapers are available during the peak times.

Water

Water in the taps in the villas and the camp kitchens (except solar) is FILTERED river water which can be used for drinking and cooking. However – please note that the NSW Department of Health recommends boiling it before consumption. Guests have the option to bring water with them if preferred.
Taps located in the powered/unpowered site areas provide UNFILTERED river water so we suggest filling the tank in your caravan/motor home/campervan before you leave home.

Sunscreen and insect repellent

Because you are going to be outside (mostly) and in the elements pack these essentials, however we do stock these items in the Kiosk, just in case you forget.

Firewood

Feel free to BYO firewood or you can purchase from our kiosk. We sell wood by the bag, half metre or full metre crate.

Phone & device chargers

To keep in touch with “the outside world” and to post your Morning Glory River Resort holiday pics on social media!
Unfortunately WI-FI is not available but we do have good Telstra & Optus service. For guests staying on an unpowered site – bring your device to reception – the staff will be happy to charge it for you.

Bikes

We encourage adventure and independence in kids, and bikes are a great way to explore the property and to get around our large resort.

Sporting equipment

Ensure you pack your favourite sports equipment such as a cricket set, tennis racquets, golf clubs and a soccer ball or football will provide hours of FREE entertainment for family & friends!

Board Games

If the weather is not conducive to being outdoors or the sun has set, a board game is a fantastic way to bring your group together for a fun time indoors. In our busy lives we don’t often find time for good old fashioned quality time together, so make the most of it and show off your superior charade skills, or clean up in Monopoly, Jenja, UNO, Twister, Connect Four, Mouse Trap, Trivial Pursuit, Cluedo, Scrabble… you’ll almost be wishing for it to rain!

Torches

Night time adventures are encouraged. Spot the nocturnal wildlife, play night time hide and seek, go for a night bush walk, see the world in a different light!

Camera

Such a fun time away needs to be captured on camera. Just imagine if you missed the shot of your partner falling into the river as they hook a massive Murray Cod? Or the huge smiles on your children’s faces as they gain the courage to learn how to water ski or toast marshmallows on the fire?

Most importantly

Bring a sense of fun and adventure! Enjoy the great Aussie outdoors and explore, spend time together, swim, run, jump, climb, watch the stars, relax. And enjoy our hospitality as we plan to appreciate your company during your visit with us.
